Osun first lady emerges chair of southern govs’ wives forum

The first lady of Osun State, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, has emerged the new chairperson of the Southern Governors’ Wives’ Forum (SGWF).

Mrs Oyetola was elected as SGWF chairperson during the forum’s quarterly meeting at the Edo House, Abuja.

She replaced the first lady of Edo State, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, who had completed her tenure.

Mrs Oyetola emerged chairperson of the forum through consensus.

The first Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Martha Udom, was elected vice chairperson of the forum; the first lady of Bayelsa State, Mrs. Gloria Diri, secretary; and the first lady of Imo State, Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma, treasurer.

Other members of the new executive include the first lady of Abia State, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, Public Relations Officer and the first lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, welfare officer.

The forum resolved to undertake collectively common projects that would impact the region in support of their spouses.
