The President of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), Nigeria, Mrs Eunice Ezeoke, has congratulated the Minister of Transport, Hon Rotimi Amaechi for the New Rail Network Initiative.
President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off the commercial operation of the Lagos- Ibadan rail line project in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State, last week.
She stated that this will boost trade and also create an ease of doing business with regards to cargo and human transportation.
She also gave kudos to the Federal Governments effort in driving projects that will boost the Nigerian economy, generate foreign direct investments and create employment.
She noted that this initiative will decongest the already congested roads.
In a similar development, Mrs Ezeoke commended the Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Administration & Safety Commission (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, for the successful flag off of the Integrated National Security & Waterways Protection Infrastructure In Nigeria also known as Deep Blue Project by President Muhammad Buhari recently in Apapa Lagos State.
She added that this development will foster security in the country’s waterways and boost the economy as the issue of pirate attacks and all other maritime crimes in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea will be greatly minimised.
She further stated that this shows the Federal Government’s resolve to protect the waterways and secure the nations assets in a bid to encourage trade and revenue generation through our waters.
She also commended the Chief of Naval Staff, members of the steering committee, the project management team, and all other government stakeholders who have ensured the successful flag off of the project.
