The federal government has unveiled plans to distribute ₦75,000 in cash to 70 million Nigerians to mitigate the rising economic hardship in the country.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Hon. Aliyu Audu, described the initiative as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to tackle poverty and improve living conditions.

Audu noted that the administration has recorded notable achievements in just 19 months, including an increase in foreign reserves by $7.69 billion year-on-year, improved federation allocations to states and local governments, and progress in the agricultural sector with the distribution of 255 tractors to farmers.

He also highlighted the repatriation of $52.88 million in looted funds as a testament to the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency.

The planned cash disbursement is expected to provide relief to millions of Nigerians struggling with the effects of economic challenges.
