Ekiti monarch to FG: End all forms of violence, banditry in 2022

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, has called for concerted efforts of Nigerians and the federal government to put an end to violence throughout the country in the year 2022.

The traditional ruler made the call while felicitating with the entire people of Ekiti State and Nigeria for witnessing this year’s Christmas.

He made the remarks while meeting with the elite of Ilawe-Ekiti in his palace.

He urged them to pray hard for peaceful coexistence and an end to banditry and kidnapping across the nation in 2022.

“I hereby plead with the federal government to use the available tactics and power to end all forms of violence in 2022 by enlisting the support of all Nigerians,” he stressed while reiterating that success could only be achieved through total and maximum support of Nigerians.

The Alawe also advised the youth to shun vices such as political thuggery, drug addiction, cyber-crimes and other nefarious activities.

He further counselled Christians and others to regard Christmas and the New Year period as a time for sober reflection on the lessons from the life of Jesus Christ by imbibing peaceful resolution of issues and crises.

The monarch also felicitated with the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, members of the Ekiti State cabinet, the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, religious leaders and traditional rulers throughout the country for witnessing this year’s Christmas and New Year festivities.
