Court Grants Hadi Sirika, Daughter, Others ₦100m Bail Each.

A federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted ₦100m bail each to a former minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter, and two others. The court also mandated them to provide two sureties who must have landed properties in Abuja. The sureties, the court said, must also be responsible citizens. The court also restricted the defendants from traveling abroad without its permission.

The former Minister was arraigned before Justice Sylvanus Oriji along with his daughter, Fatima, his son-in-law Jalal Sule Hamma and a firm – Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.

They appeared on Thursday at the High Court of the Federal Capitol Territory FCT and denied the alleged corrupt practices against involving about ₦4. 135 billion brought against him by the federal government.

Justice Oriji ordered that the defendants should be remanded in prison custody if they failed to meet their bail conditions.

The court fixed June 11 for trial of the defendants.
