Constitution review: Hausa community wants Jos Central LGA

The Hausa community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has called for the creation of Jos central local government area.

The demand was presented Wednesday at the public hearing organised by the House of the Representatives Committee on the review of the 1999 constitution in Jos.

The Hausa community under the aegis of Jasawa Community Development Association, in a memorandum signed by Shehu Masallah, and presented by Barr. Lawal Ishaq, said the projected population of Jos North LGA which is now put at 750,000 underscored the need to split it into two.
