APC primary: Enemies accusing me of importing thugs, says Andy Uba

Andy Uba, one of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has described those accusing him of importing thugs from neighbouring state as enemies of the state.

Uba, who spoke to Daily Trust through his his media aide Mrs Onyekachi Okafor, said the news is targeted at rubbishing the reputation he built over the years.

The APC primary election will hold on Saturday.

Uba said there is no reason for him to import thugs for the election, having been a senator and governor of the state.

He said the only thing he is asking God is to give him the grace to touch more lives in the state and the nation.

“I am in the race to touch more lives and not to make money. I have enough to take me and my children for life,” he said.

“I am into politics to touch lives and bring development to Anambra state. God has blessed me beyond imagination and I am grateful to Him.”

A group known as Igbo Ohanaeze had petitioned Governor Willie Obiano and security agencis, alleging alleging that the senator had imported thugs to influence the out of the APC primary.

Meanwhile, the APC national and state executives are still meeting to strategise on how to conduct the primary.
