Suspected bandits on Thursday evening killed seven passengers and abducted others during an attack on a commercial bus along the Funtua–Tsafe road in Zamfara.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen opened fire as the bus approached, forcing it off the road. Women and children were among the casualties.
Several injured passengers were taken to Tsafe General Hospital.
Police are yet to comment on the incident.
