3 herders killed in fresh Plateau attack

No fewer than three herders were killed around Gidan Ado of Gamawuri District of Riyom Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.

This is coming after attacks and counter-attacks in some villages of Riyom, Jos South, and Bassa LGAs of the state, with many killed and injured.

Alhaji Mato Ibrahim, the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), in Riyom LGA, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust yesterday, said the herders were killed in the evening of Tuesday.

He said they had reported the case to both Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Bassa and Riyom LGAs, adding that, “We have already recovered one of the bodies together with the DPOs and still searching for the remaining ones.”

When contacted, the police spokesman, ASP Ubah Gabriel, confirmed the incident, adding that two herders were killed in the attack.
